easter.grams
Easter services this weekend were just awesome! What’s also awesome is checking out all of the instagrams from one location within just a few hours. By checking the geo-tagged location (Pacific Amphitheater) I found that there were over 75 different shots from the services all taken and shared through instagram. Hash-tagging and geo-tagging in instagram is a fantastic feature that I love to use for this reason. Here are most of them that I screenshoted Monday morning after Easter. Only one of these is actually my photo. I’m not claiming to have shot all of these, just re-sharing 🙂 …

film that’s fun : easter ’12
The power of worship and baptisms that went on today at the Easter services in the Pacific Amphitheater was just incredible! To see whole families worship together and dads baptizing their daughters was just awesome. I had a great time capturing some these emotions. Here’s a quick preview of what I caught this morning (more to come.)

ryder’s 2nd birthday
Ryder is one of Micah’s closest homies. They’re only 5 wks apart and have been friends since before they were born. We love Ryder and were happy to be in on the celebration of his 2nd birthday! It felt good to break out the dslr after all the iPhoneography I’ve been doing.

spring training ’12
Headed out to AZ to catch some spring training a few weeks back. Out of bad luck, I forgot my camera bag 😦 Thanks to my iPhone and editing apps, I was able to get some shots of the few days we were there…

iPhone panoramic test…
This last weekend I tried snapping 4 shots to merge into a panoramic photo. At first glance it seems to have worked although at this time of day I got hit with some funky lighting as I moved right to left. The iPhone 4s can take some fabulous shots, although this may a slight flaw I’ve found. Lighting is great because its automated on it’s own on the iPhone, yet lighting is not great becuase it’s automated as well. Either way, take what you can from it, I was still able to catch the back bay in newport beach, ca somewhat here … natural light, about 5:45pm, no filters …

the difference editing can make
Editing photos can do so many things for a raw natural shot. It can enhance coloring or improve/fix brightness & contrast. It can bring the best out in photos and sometimes can make them look worse. Like a few previous posts, these shots were all taken with an iPhone 4s and were all edited with snapseed on the phone. snapseed has become a good friend of mine lately. The versatility is about as close as you can get to photoshop on a mobile device. If you don’t have it, I strongly recommend picking it up. Here is a look at the difference editing can make in a photo…

it’s a digital age…
Things are a lot different than when we were younger. A first generation GameBoy wouldn’t entertain this guy for 3.2 seconds. In fact, he probably couldn’t even hold that heavy brick! Every now and then he likes to play with an old iPhone (2G,) when he actually calms down to. It’s quite fun to watch him mess around with it…
